References to Melusine as a mermaid or half fish demon was an early Christian reference to her origins among the Pagan Develjans who were scions of the Persian Pishdadi. The family insignia of the Pishdadi from earliest times was the fish (usually a dolphin). Martin Luther derided Melusine as a demonesse or "Devil" in female form and in doing so preserved for us a hint of her origins among the Albanian Alabugadi family of Sahlabi priests whose various branches migrated with the Silk traders north to Kvenland, West to Denmark/Nova Dacia, and who in addition to exerting influence in Constantanople, contributed leaders for the cities of Lubech and Lucelburg and married into the family of Kievan princes.

The Celtic Monolith found in Diekirch/Diedekirch in Luxembourg is remembered as the Deivelselter. Historically the town was named for a sanctuary of priestesses supposedly headed by a Oracular female descendant of the Asar (variously named Aude, Ode, Odde) The monolith was raised as a memorial to the Develjan tribe whose presence was demonized during the middle ages and whose ascendance is now remembered as the time when the Devil set his footprint in the region.

This monolith as the seat of the sanctuary is older than this Melusine and may indicate a deeper historical tie to the region dating from Roman times.

It is highly possible that one of the Pishdadi kings, Abtin, is the same person as the Hebrew Abraham, or is one of the several individuals of the time whose life has been conflated with the legendary/mythological person identified as the Hebrew Abraham. This identification was made through careful comparative cross-disciplinary studies and reconciliation with historical and archaeological record.
